George Grossmith was one of the leading lights in Gilbert and Sullivan's first opera company and a creator of many roles in Savoy operas (and immortalised in Mike Leigh's film Topsy-Turvey).
He also had a successful career on both sides of the Atlantic in Music Hall.
The first volume of re-creations of his comic songs sells extremely well and in volume 2, Leon Berger "is" George Grossmith in another generous collection.
In addition, there are two original tracks from 1909 performed by George Grossmith Junior. His recording of Yip-I-Addy-I-Ay (the first ever made) is truly wonderful!
